Cataluña
Catalonian coast is really atractive for navigation, specially the northern area, known as Costa Brava.  The coastline is steep, and is full of beautifull pine forests reaching the seaside and  wide areas with low housing development. There we will find, besides wonderful landscapes, many moorings in small beaches with difficult walking access. Many yacht charter companies operate in Catalonia, specially in Barcelona city.

Baleares
The Balearic Islands are paradise for navigation in Spain. In their coastline, which is very irregular and with lovely landscapes, you will find many excellent and beautifull moorings, also protected from the wind. In summer, boats from all Europe arrive to their beaches and bays, looking for their famous clear waters. The Balearic Islands have the biggest charter offer in Spain and, probably, the cheapest prices. Menorca1.jpg (47114 bytes)

Levante
Many areas within the east coast (known as Levante) have been recently urbanized, so few natural moorings remain. As a result, less nautical activity is offered compared to other areas. However, you will find many marinas to stop by and interesting places, like the Columbretes Islands, the Nao Cape or Manga del Mar Menor. Levante is also the usual starting point towards the Balearic Islands. Levante2.jpg (42008 bytes)

Andalucía
The Andalusian coast is wide and quite varied from one place to another. You will find hardly developed areas, like Cabo de Gata Park in Almería, or Tarifa and Huelva beaches, as well as sophisticated tourist villages, especially in the Málaga coast. The eastern part has a very good climate, even in winter. The western part, facing the Atlantic Ocean, has stronger winds. Boats to rent are located mainly in the Málaga and Cádiz areas. From there, you can also visit the very close coast of Morocco.

Canarias

The Canary Islands represent a very important place for nautical activity, specially in winter. It is due to their mild temperatures and waters, throughout the year, even suitable for bathing. In winter, many yacht charter companies move their boats from continental Spain to the Canary Islands, so you can find a good offer at this season. Although they are located in the Atlantic Ocean, the sea around them is calm with mild temperatures. Therefore, you will enjoy sailing from island to island and looking at the beautiful volcanic landscapes near the coast.

Galicia
Galicia is in the Atlantic side of Spain, but have good sailing conditions in the calm and protected waters of its big estuaries, called "rías". In comparison with Mediterranean Sea,  yacht charter offer is quite lower, and the weather could be fresh in summer, even with some rain. Anyway, its green landscapes and its famous gastronomy make Galicia a good option for a sailing holidays.
